Ok so I love this and I think this should be a calling for others. Honestly I also need to recap my month and set my goals going forward I’ve created so much and I’ve slacked off a bit on my workouts after i pulled something in my knee. But this motivated me!

I appreciate that you picked up on the reflection aspect because monthly resets can be surprisingly revealing. Looking back often shows progress that gets missed when we're focused only on what's left to accomplish. A knee injury can make workouts frustrating, but protecting recovery is part of the discipline too, especially when the goal is long-term consistency rather than a perfect streak. Thank you for sharing your own reset moment here, and I hope June gives you both healing and momentum as you move toward your next goals.

I hope your surgery goes well! It's nice to hear you change your protein goals because your original one didn't work for you. That's something we don't share often, that it's okay to adjust the bar a little based on our routines/needs.

I’m starting a tai chi practice this month. I did 5 minutes on the deck last evening with a YouTube video.

I don’t have my usual habit tracker calendar with me so I’m thinking of making a little star chart to visualize my daily progress

I love how you used "romanticizing" — there's a difference between grinding at self-improvement and actually enjoying the process. Curious how the calisthenics goes.

Wishing you the best for surgery and exams! I wrote my June goals out this morning:

1. Earn £100 from Vinted sales towards summer trips

2. Gain 5 new subs on Substack

3. Adjust to life without a personal trainer! So there will be adjustments to my protein goals and movement too

I love how specific and measurable these goals are because each one creates a clear way to recognize progress when June comes to a close. The Vinted goal connects directly to an experience you're looking forward to, which often makes consistency easier, and gaining five new subscribers feels like a thoughtful focus on steady community growth rather than chasing large numbers. Your point about adjusting after losing a personal trainer also reflects something many people overlook: sustainable progress often comes from adapting the plan rather than trying to replicate conditions that have changed. Thank you for sharing your June goals, and I hope you'll look back at the end of the month pleasantly surprised by how much those small daily choices accumulated.

Neha, one of the strengths of this reflection is the way you measure progress across multiple dimensions of life rather than reducing it to a single outcome. Passing an exam, paying down bills, building a writing habit, growing paid subscribers, and finding joy in gardening all represent meaningful movement forward. I also appreciate your decision to adjust your goals rather than abandon them; lowering a protein target from 100 grams to 80 grams reflects self-awareness and sustainability, two qualities that often produce better long-term results than sheer willpower. Thank you for sharing such an honest look at what it means to rebuild confidence through consistent, achievable steps.
